Chapter 61 - Fatherly Love Is Mountainous
ng Fu looked at Wen Ruiyan through her veil and coldly said, "Our Young Lord was injured while saving Miss Qin, who is the fiancée to the Crown Prince-to-be. He cannot travel back and forth between Yu...Chapter 61 Fatherly Love Like a Mountain
After Ling Lian left, Yun Qianmo sat at the desk, supporting her chin with her hand as she was deep in thought.
The old emperor had dispatched Ye Tiantian to witness the marriage between South Liang and the Lan family. Ye Tiantian knew her too well; no matter how much she disguised herself, as long as they met face-to-face, he would recognize her. He would know that behind her affiliation with the Glory王府 (Glory Manor) and Fengge Pavilion (Wind Pavilion), there was also Hongge (Red Pavilion). Her power base had been exposed to him, but since their relationship had reached this point now, what difference did it make if he recognized her They were simply on opposite sides.
It was time for him to see things clearly. At the very least, she wasn’t someone who could be controlled just by his will!
The same went for falling in love with Rong Jing; he couldn't give her what she wanted either.
Sounds of footsteps were approaching Shanyue Pavilion from outside, gradually getting closer. In no time, they arrived at the pavilion. Yun Qianmo raised her head and looked out the window to see Wenhui arriving. She quietly watched him approach.
"Miss Shanyue! I am here to deliver a message by His Majesty’s order!" Wenhui stopped in front of the door, respectfully stating.
"Speak!"
"His Majesty says that Empress Dowager has been bored and restless these days. He invites Miss Shanyue to come to the palace for a few days," said Wenhui.
Yun Qianmo narrowed her eyes. Was this an attempt by the old emperor to prevent her from interfering with the affairs of the Lan family She scoffed inwardly, speaking calmly, "Let’s talk about it later! My uncle Emperor should know that I’ve been busy with Brother-in-law’s wedding and am exhausted. Please tell him I need some rest for a few days. If Empress Dowager feels too bored, please send her to Cloud王府 (Cloud Manor) instead."
"Miss Shanyue, the palace can also be used for resting. Wouldn’t that be the same" Wenhui said softly.
"How could it be the same The palace is different from home; how comfortable would it really be I don't like staying in the palace," Yun Qianmo waved her hand, "Just relay this message back to His Majesty!"
"Yes!" Wenhui heard the displeasure in Yun Qianmo’s voice and quickly replied before leaving.
Yun Qianmo watched Wenhui leave Shanyue Pavilion. She leaned back into her chair with a sigh, closing her eyes. After a moment, she suddenly opened them to look outside; the sun was already leaning westward. She softly called out, "Yixue!"
"Miss" Yixue immediately responded.
“Has the celebration ended” Yun Qianmo asked.
“Seems like it just finished,” Yixue replied.
Yun Qianmo suddenly stood up and walked towards the door. She glanced back at the large bed where Rong Jing was sleeping soundly, then turned around to close the room door before heading out of the courtyard.
"Miss, where are you going" Yixue followed her, softly asking.
“I’m going to see Father! You stay here and make sure no one disturbs him,” Yun Qianmo said without slowing down.
Yixue nodded and stopped in place.
Yun Qianmo quickly left Shanyue Pavilion, faintly hearing the shouts of "See off His Majesty" from the main gate. She thought that since the old emperor had dispatched Wenhui to use her aunt as an obstacle, now unable to stop her, there might still be other plans in store for him. Regardless of what his next move was, she would definitely go to the Lan family; before going to see them today, she needed to first visit her father.
Turning past the water pavilion and long corridor, she arrived at the front courtyard just as Cloud王爺 (Cloud King) was standing by the door seeing off guests. As the jade carriage of the old emperor left, followed by successive departures of Prince Dede, Prince Xiaoxiao, and other court officials. The Cloud王爺 (Cloud King), as usual, maintained a respectful posture, sending each person off with proper etiquette.
Yun Qianyue's gaze shifted away from Prince Yun, and she saw Ye Tianyi and Cang Ting standing at the back of the departing crowd. The two men were strikingly handsome—one was graceful and elegant, while the other was refined and amiable. They stood out among the crowd. At this moment, Ye Tianyi had his hands behind his back as he looked towards Prince Yun who was seeing off guests personally by the courtyard gate, and Cang Ting held a jade fan made of twelve bones and gently tapped it on his palm while casually observing something. Despite having the same demeanor as Nan Lingrui when waving a folding fan, what seemed stylish and carefree in Nan Lingrui's case gave Cang Ting an appearance that was elegant and pleasing to look at. She could see how the young maidservants attending to Prince Yun blushed and couldn't tear their eyes away from the two men.
As if sensing her gaze, both of them turned around simultaneously and looked at her.
Ye Tianyi's gaze was indifferent, while Cang Ting curved his lips into a gentle smile. "Miss Qianyue also came to see off guests I thought Miss Qianyue would be lost in the tender embrace of Prince Jing and wouldn't sleep."
"As the head of Yun王府, shouldn't I come to see off guests" Yun Qianyue walked over slowly with a casual expression. "Prince Jing's tender embrace does indeed make me lose myself in joy without realizing it, and it is truly delightful."
"Miss Qianyue truly... isn’t an aristocratic lady!" Cang Ting chuckled with some hidden meaning.
"** has always existed since ancient times. I naturally wouldn't consider myself an aristocratic lady! If that were the case, Young Master Cang wouldn't have the privilege of seeing my face," Yun Qianyue took a few graceful steps closer. About half a month ago, she had lost her strength and martial arts skills due to saving Auntie, which allowed him to restrain her; however, now that she had recovered, she naturally wasn’t afraid of him. Moreover, she discovered something strange: every time she was injured and then recovered, her martial arts level would increase slightly. Although she might not be a match for Cang Ting yet, it wouldn't be easy for him to restrain her again.
"Miss Qianyue truly is different from other women! No wonder I feel enchanted by you the moment I see you," Cang Ting opened his fan with a snap. The jade fan's twelve bones glowed in the sunlight, like a beautiful woman’s face.
“Have Young Master Cang’s injuries healed yet” Yun Qianyue asked calmly, raising her eyebrows.
"With so many good medicines at Seven Prince’s mansion, of course it has healed!" Cang Ting glanced at Ye Tianyi who had a blank expression and his eyes flickered slightly.
“Is that so Then let me try…” Before Yun Qianyue could finish her word ‘try’, she gently swished her sleeves, sending out a glinting silver streak towards Cang Ting. The silver light sparkled under the sun’s rays and was as swift as lightning.
Cang Ting remained calm. He shifted his feet lightly, turned his body slightly, and with a slight flick of his wrist using his twelve-bone jade fan, he deflected the glinting coldness into his sleeve. Soon after, he gracefully landed and smiled at Yun Qianyue as she raised her eyebrows. "Many thanks for your gift, Miss Qianyue; I quite like it and will treasure it."
"Young Master Cang needn’t be polite! If you poison me to death, I’ll burn a stick of incense at your grave!" Yun Qianyue gently withdrew her hand in a composed manner. Her expression was serene as if she wasn't the one who had just made an aggressive move.
Cang Ting looked down and saw that his sleeve was blackened over a large area. His face changed, but he suddenly smiled widely and said: "I heard there is a saying outside—'die under the peony flower, be charming even as a ghost.' It’s said this phrase originated from Miss Qianyue. I haven’t indulged in anything for twenty years, so now I can try it. This poison needle I’ll certainly keep it well and wait for you to burn incense at my grave."
"I thought you were a gemstone, but turns out you’re just scrap metal!" Yun Qianyue couldn’t help but sneer softly.
"Both come from the ground; what’s the difference Miss Qianyue’s Zen is too deep!" Cang Ting smiled with great satisfaction and slashed off half of his sleeve. He then wrapped up the poison needle in front of Yun Qianyue, tucking it into his chest.
Yun Qianyue pursed her lips as she watched him. Suddenly, her eyes sparkled as she said brightly: "These gold needles were buried by someone during my uncle Emperor’s 55th birthday celebration in the Golden Hall. Oh, that array is called 'Departing Without Return.' No one has found out who set up this trap. I’ve been keeping these golden needles for a long time now; since you like them, I’ll give them to you."
Cang Ting paused before smiling deeply: "Regardless of whose they are, the fact that you’re giving them to me makes them yours. It’s my honor."
Yun Qianyue shivered in her heart and was just about to mock him further when Prince Yun walked over after seeing off guests with a courteous demeanor: "Seven Prince, Young Master Cang, thank you for coming today to witness my son's wedding. I apologize if the hospitality wasn’t adequate."
From his voice to his posture, and even his walking gait and polite tone, everything was identical to Prince Yun’s. Yun Qianyue was momentarily stunned; she swallowed her words and hid her expression.
"Uncle Yun is too kind! Tianyi hurriedly returned and forgot the gift, but I’ll send it later," Ye Tianyi had been standing by watching the exchange between Yun Qianyue and Cang Ting coldly. He turned to Prince Yun with a courteous tone as well.
"Seven Prince is too kind!" Prince Yun repeatedly bowed in thanks.
“Tomorrow I leave for the Lan family, so matters like this Moon兒 wouldn’t miss an opportunity to join in. But now that Mother’s pregnancy progresses each day, you must prioritize her health and not neglect it out of carelessness. It will be too late to regret then,” Ye Tianyi looked at Yun Qianyue as usual with a gentle tone.
“I’ll manage my affairs well; there's no need for Seven Prince to worry about me!” Yun Qianyue lowered her eyelashes.
"That's great! Now that Prince Jing has caused a rift between us, it’s understandable that you don't like me. I’ve wasted my efforts." Night Tianyi turned around and walked towards the main gate. "No need to see me off, Your Excellency Cloud King! We are just separated by one wall. Who knows which day that wall will crumble, and your Cloud王府 and my Seventh Prince’s residence will become as close as a family!"
"May the Seventh Prince have an easy journey!" The Cloud King seemed to be sweating profusely.
"Haha, I also look forward to the day when that wall between the Cloud王府 and the Seventh Prince's residence collapses. Since I will be staying at the Seventh Prince’s residence for a long time, it would indeed be convenient if the wall were to collapse." Cang Ting put away his fan and turned around with a smile as he said to the Cloud King: "No need to see me off! I’m an old friend of Miss Shallow Moon. We met ten years ago and even played a game of chess together. Those memories are still vivid!"
"Sir Cang, may your journey be safe!" The Cloud King seemed at a loss for words.
“Miss Shallow Moon, I’ll also be returning home tomorrow. Everyone in the Cang family wants to see who that little girl was back then who made Grandpa leave and never return. If you’re going to the Lan family tomorrow, don’t disappoint the Cangs!” Cang Ting suddenly turned around with a meaningful smile at Yun Shallow Moon: "Especially me."
“Of course! Rest assured, Sir Cang. Don't expect to be able to handle my gift!” Yun Shallow Moon frowned and said coldly.
"How could that happen Miss Shallow Moon’s gift is nothing I can’t bear. I’ve already learned my lesson ten years ago!" Cang Ting laughed and followed Night Tianyi out of the Cloud王府 main gate.
Yun Shallow Moon didn’t say anything more, her expression uncertain as she watched them leave.
"Shallow Moon!" The Cloud King looked at Yun Shallow Moon and called softly. There were multiple emotions in that one word, but they seemed to be restrained, so much so that if you weren't careful, you wouldn’t be able to tell what he was feeling.
Yun Shallow Moon averted her gaze and looked at the Cloud King with an indifferent expression.
The Cloud King seemed shaken by Yun Shallow Moon’s cool demeanor, his body trembling slightly before he lowered his head. After a moment of silent sighing, he walked away without another word.
Yun Shallow Moon was furious but didn’t want to cause trouble outside with so many eyes watching them behind their backs. She bowed her head and followed him closely.
The Cloud King did not go to the study or his own courtyard, instead heading towards the old Cloud King’s courtyard.
Yun Shallow Moon followed close behind him, stepping in the prints of his footsteps. Even though she recognized the face as that of a man she had known for over ten years, at this moment it felt different because she knew he was her father. His back seemed like a mountain, and feelings of attachment were something she never found on the Cloud King before but now did find. Furthermore, with him around, she inexplicably felt more secure.
This behavior might be childish, yet it was beyond her control. Although she detested how he had abandoned her for so many years, when she saw him, she still wanted to get close to him and couldn’t bear the thought of ignoring or scorning him. Every time she thought about him, she recalled his victory over 150,000 imperial troops at Phoenix Pass fifteen years ago and felt only awe.
Father! The person from her previous life who was out of reach but whom she had always longed for! A relationship that she never expected to have again in this lifetime! Yun Shallow Moon was lost in a whirlwind of emotions as she walked with her head lowered, and suddenly the man ahead stopped. She bumped into him, causing her head to hurt slightly. She took two steps back and heard a low chuckle, one so pleasant that it didn’t match the Cloud King’s voice but sounded youthful. She looked up and saw the Cloud King smiling at her: "What a child!"
Although he still had the same humble expression as before, he seemed like an entirely different person now. Yun Shallow Moon was momentarily stunned, unable to speak.
The Cloud King turned around again and continued walking forward.
"Who told you to stop" Seeing him turn around, Yun Shallow Moon looked around them since they had already arrived at the back courtyard. It was quiet here except for two servants running errands; she couldn’t help but get angry.
"My legs are mine. I can walk or stop as I please. You’re the one who ran into me, and now you blame me That’s rather unreasonable!" The Cloud King didn’t turn around, his voice carrying a hint of laughter.
“I’ll be unreasonable then! What about it Who made my mother die so early, leaving behind a father with countless women who treated me like I was nothing but a blade of grass A child raised without parents behaves this way!” Yun Shallow Moon couldn’t help revealing her hidden resentment.
The Cloud King’s steps faltered and his body stiffened slightly.
Yun Shallow Moon regretted her words once they were out. She knew there were reasons why he had to keep silent, but she still vented her frustrations on him. This couldn’t be controlled with just the word "tolerance." He was her father, who had abandoned her for so long. Although she respected him in her heart, she simply couldn’t suppress her sense of injustice and wanted to unload all her grievances onto him. As someone who has lived two lifetimes, it felt like a child again. She found that believing in the power of blood relations was indeed quite miraculous.
The airflow in the air seemed to be still for a moment, and Lord Yun walked forward silently again.
Yun Qianyue thought that this person was really...really...it felt like hitting cotton with her fist; she was angry but couldn't vent it. The half of her anger that had dissipated suddenly surged to the top of her head once more, and she took a big step forward, grabbed his sleeve, and angrily asked, "What exactly do you want"
Lord Yun's footsteps paused as he turned around; he saw Yun Qianyue's pale fingers tightly gripping onto his sleeves. When he looked up at her, he saw her angry and stubborn face. His stiff expression suddenly softened into a smile, and with a helpless sigh, he said, "You should be the one asking me that question, what exactly do you want"
Yun Qianyue glared at him furiously, "What can I ask of you What can I ask of you Tell me! What else can I ask of you"
The smile on Lord Yun's face faded away as he remained silent.
"Now that you don't acknowledge my existence anymore, are you planning to abandon me again" Yun Qianyue gritted her teeth and asked.
Lord Yun shook his head, "No!"
"I doubt if you dare to abandon me again! If this time you dare to abandon me again, I will...I will...cut off all ties with you till the day I die!" Yun Qianyue looked at him fiercely and struggled to spit out a sentence; her anger was so great that it even tore through Lord Yun's sleeves.
Lord Yun suddenly laughed, "Alright, if I abandon you again, I will cut off all ties with you till the day I die!"
"You still laugh! Have you enjoyed leaving me alone for all these years Do you feel proud" Yun Qianyue's eyes suddenly turned red. How could she not see any guilt on this man's face or in his eyes He didn't even have a bit of the awareness that he was supposed to be her father. When she found out that he was indeed her father, she had been overjoyed and shed tears.
"In the blink of an eye, my daughter has grown up so much! She has shouldered the weight of the vast Yun王府 all by herself. Although there have been some setbacks, it's still peaceful and stable, and you're living well. Even the old emperor can't do anything to you, shouldn't I feel proud" Lord Yun reached out to pat Yun Qianyue's head gently and said, "Be good. Let's talk about this in Old Man's courtyard! Whatever you want to know, I will tell you."
Yun Qianyue snorted and pulled him tightly without letting go, angrily asking, "After abandoning me, do you still feel no regret at all"
Lord Yun blinked his eyes as he looked at Yun Qianyue seriously, "No!"
"How could you have none Am I not your daughter" Yun Qianyue glared at him with reddened eyes.
"You are indeed my daughter; however, leaving you didn't make me feel the slightest bit of regret. A man looks up to heaven and stands on earth. There are things he can do and cannot do. Abandoning you was something I could not have done. Since it's something that should not be done, why would I feel guilty From little to big, throughout my life, I've always done what I believed was right. Without any guilt towards heaven and earth, parents or children. If there is anything I am regretful about, it's the ancestors of Yun王府, and being ashamed of the surname Yun."
Yun Qianyue looked into his calm eyes and saw the serious expression in them; suddenly her anger was dispelled by this calm gaze. There were two versions of herself tugging at each other in her heart—one hoping to see a look of guilt on him, just like when Lord Yun had shown remorse during the incident with Concubine Feng, she would watch him coldly and ignore him because he owed her something; the other one being subdued by this calm gaze and words, thinking that this was truly her father. A true man should be so carefree and clear-headed about worldly matters, doing what he wants to do, ought to do, and must do, while not feeling overly guilty or entangled about things beyond his ability. She sincerely admired him. If she had a choice, she would rather have such a father, even if it seemed like he wanted her to punch him.
"Let's go! Let's talk this out in Old Man's courtyard!" Lord Yun turned around and walked forward.
Yun Qianyue tightly held onto his sleeves without letting go, not moving an inch. Although the anger in her heart had dissipated, she still didn't want to compromise with him like that just yet. She wanted him to give her some sort of explanation, but what kind of explanation exactly, she wasn't sure either. Anyway, it felt wrong if nothing happened.
"Ah, you really are...really a child!" Lord Yun suddenly reached into his chest and after rummaging for a moment, he pulled out something and stuffed it into Yun Qianyue's hand with a smile, saying, "This time, will you finally let go of me"
Yun Qianyue looked down to see that it was a candy. Her vision went dark as if a flock of crows flew over her head. She angrily ground her teeth and said, "I am not a child!"
Lord Yun rubbed his head with his hand and somewhat
Yun Qianyue felt like she was going to die from anger, yet she didn't know how. She glared at the Cloud King, who looked無辜 and troubled as he stared back at her. Suddenly feeling dispirited, she let go of his hand and said gloomily, "Forget it! Who told you that you're my father!"
"Hmph, I am your father. The real deal, no fake here!" The Cloud King nodded in affirmation.
"I doubt it! How can I have such a stupid father He doesn't even know how to哄人!" Yun Qianyue marched past him angrily, truly feeling depressed in her heart. She had been at odds with him for so long without getting anywhere, just like a strongman hitting a bull but killing an ant instead. No, that was wrong; she had gotten a candy. Heaven knows, she had never eaten candies before!
Yun Qianyue walked ahead feeling depressed and didn't notice the man behind her, whose lips curled up slightly with sly amusement in his eyes, illuminating him like stars rising from the horizon.
The two arrived at Old King Yun's courtyard, one following the other.
Yu Zhuo was waiting by the door and greeted them respectfully upon their arrival. "I pay my respects to Your Excellency, and Miss!"
"Where’s that old geezer" Yun Qianyue walked on without stopping. Suddenly remembering how the man behind her had called him “grandpa” twice earlier yet never referred to him by name, she couldn't help but laugh again. Was this something passed down in the family N Lingrui also called his grandfather "old geezer."
"Old King Yun is resting in his room and won’t see anyone!" Yu Zuo replied.
"Not seeing us, how can that be" Yun Qianyue harrumphed and walked straight into the inner chamber.
Yu Zhuo knew she couldn't stop her and didn't dare to try, so she stood aside waiting for them to enter.
The room door was closed, not only that but it was also locked from the inside. Yun Qianyue had never encountered such a situation before. She tugged at the doorknob; the door remained still. Frowning, she wondered if she should break it open with one palm.
"Aren't you good at picking locks Pick this lock!" The Cloud King glanced at the immovable door and suggested to Yun Qianyue.
"How do you know I can pick locks" Yun Qianyue turned around.
The Cloud King's eyes flashed quickly, "Little Jing told me!"
Yun Qianyue frowned tightly. Could Rong Jing have known she could pick locks She hadn't done it in front of him before. She had only picked one lock since coming to this world—the treasury of Western Yan. That was a few years ago when she went there looking for something important and life-saving. No one else knew where the item was, so she broke into the treasury at night. Even ancient treasuries with huge locks weren't as secure as today’s safes; it had been easy to open. But that year Rong Jing hadn’t been in Western Yan. So thinking of what he might know, she turned around and harrumphed, "He must be telling you everything."
"Hmph, he told me many things about you," The Cloud King nodded, his eyes flashing again.
Yun Qianyue pursed her lips, pulled out a hairpin from her head and inserted it into the door crack. With some skill, she fiddled with the lock for a moment before hearing a click as the lock fell off to the floor. She put back the hairpin on her head, pushed open the door which creaked and stepped in, only to see Old King Yun snoring away on his bed without being aware of their arrival. She entered slowly.
The Cloud King followed behind.
Yun Qianyue reached the bedside and looked down. The old man was sleeping on his side with loud snores. She reached out to pull at his beard, saying as she did so, "If you keep pretending to be asleep, I'll pluck your beard out one by one until you wake up."
"You brat! You've gone too far!" Old King Yun opened her hand and leaped off the bed. There was no sign of his earlier thunderous snoring; both eyes were full of spirit.
"No more pretending to be asleep" Yun Qianyue slowly withdrew her hand, turned around and sat on a soft couch, looking at them all while speaking slowly, "Today I'll stay here and exhaust you two. If you don't explain clearly everything to me, I’ll tear down the entire Cloud Manor!"
"You brat! How dare you speak like this I'm your grandpa!" Old King Yun was furious.
Yun Qianyue flicked her wrist and raised an eyebrow. "Dear Grandpa, instead of getting angry at me, think about how to protect your room from me. If my hand shakes or I get unhappy and overturn it, you’ll have nowhere to sleep!"
"You..." Seeing Cloud Shanyue's eager-to-tear-down-the-house manner, the old王爺 Cloud was so furious that he lost his words. After a moment, he turned to Cloud King in anger and said: "What kind of daughter have you raised!"
"It is I who has raised such a good daughter! If she were not good, how could Your Majesty forbid me from seeing her back then" Cloud King slowly uttered one sentence before turning around to sit on the chair beside the table.
Cloud Shanyue was stunned. She glanced at Cloud King and then looked at Old王爺 Cloud: "You forbade him from seeing me"
The old王爺 harrumphed and ignored Cloud Shanyue, saying to Cloud King instead: "You kept your word!"
"You had me swear on the ancestral shrine of our family that if I were to see her, she would break my arms and legs. How could I dare" Cloud King poured himself a cup of tea before slowly continuing.
Cloud Shanyue abruptly stood up, staring at Old王爺 Cloud with anger: "Old man, what right do you have to forbid him from seeing me And to make him take such an oath" She never expected it would be for this reason! It turns out the problem lay here.
"What right Because I am his father and you are my granddaughter. They all left one by one, abandoning this old man here. If he sees you, what if he takes you away as well" Old王爺 Cloud glared at her.
"Then you can't deprive me of my father's love!" Cloud Shanyue also glared back.
"Father's love Don't you have a father" The old王爺 harrumphed again.
"I am not close to him. In his eyes, there are only those dozens of concubines; where is there any place for me!" Cloud Shanyue nearly shouted as she spoke.
"He's still your uncle! You stinky brat, the reason isn't because of him but you. Although he was weak-willed, he treated you well at first. It wasn't until you turned cold towards him and acted crazy, becoming a playboy who couldn't control himself and gradually became even more unlikeable that he stopped paying attention to you," Old王爺 Cloud glared at Cloud Shanyue.
"You made him take such an oath just because he asked What's wrong with your head" Cloud Shanyue turned to glare at Cloud King.
Cloud King sighed helplessly, "What could I do if I didn't swear it He not only threatened me with your mother's life but also his own. If I hadn’t agreed, he wouldn’t allow me to take my wife’s coffin away and would commit suicide. The blade was at his neck; the skin and flesh had already been cut deep into the bone. If I didn't give in right then and there, he'd have really died. How could I watch him die before my eyes"
"Is that so" Cloud Shanyue turned to look at Old王爺 Cloud again, seeing his smug raised eyebrows, she flew into a rage: "You old man, why are you such a bad guy!" This old man was her grandfather; she had plenty of curses but couldn’t really bring herself to say them. The word “bad” didn't even scratch the surface and lacked any intimidation factor. She raged: "He's my father, what’s wrong with me seeing him Why do you forbid it so adamantly How could I leave with him just because we met"
"That is uncertain! I don’t do things without certainty!" Old王爺 Cloud showed no regret at all.
"You…" Cloud Shanyue was so angry that she lost her words. It truly lived up to being his grandfather and father, and she truly didn't disappoint as their granddaughter or daughter. Look at this: There's definitely truth in the saying "like father, like son," one mountain is even higher than another. She took a deep breath and calmed herself down before asking: "Then how come he’s allowed to see me now Aren’t you afraid I’ll break his arms and legs"
"The agreement was for ten years! Starting from the time your mother left, no recognition of you within those ten years. Now it has passed! The oath naturally became nullified," Cloud King sighed.
"I was two-and-a-half when my mother left; ten years is now twelve and a half. But I am fourteen and a half now. What did you do with the remaining two years of not coming to find me" Cloud Shanyue looked at Cloud King again.
